Dentures can be done if you are missing some (Removable Partial Denture) or all (Complete Denture) of your teeth. Dr. Sherer makes his own dentures to assure that the look and feel are what the patient wants. By allowing the patient to choose the shape, color, and location of the front teeth, Dr. Sherer will help you achieve the smile you desire.
- Removable Partial Dentures (RPDs) – RPDs are a good way to fill in multiple missing teeth with one appliance. A metal base is made to clasp to existing teeth to hold the RPD in place. Gum colored plastic is placed over top of the metal and teeth are positioned in place of the missing teeth.
- Complete Dentures – Complete dentures are when someone is missing most or all of their teeth. Occasionally a denture can be placed over a couple of teeth that are shaved down. Called an Overdenture, the remaining teeth help to stabilize a complete denture. Dr. Sherer can let you know if you are a good candidate for this. The conventional complete denture is made for someone with no teeth. Dr. Sherer makes his dentures through a multi-appointment process that gives optimum form and function to the patient. Occasionally, a patient can enhance the fit of his or her denture with implants.
